"Paragraph 175 Prisoners in KL Auschwitz" is the title of a new online lesson prepared by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. It focuses on the fate of homosexual men imprisoned in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz under §175 of the German Penal Code. The lesson was authored by Bohdan Piętka from the Museum’s Research Center.
Spain has decided to double its contribution to the Perpetual Fund of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, which enables the preservation of the authenticity of the remains of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. Spain’s support now amounts to 200,000 euros.
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum has been honored with the 2025 Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Award. The award was accepted on June 4 by the directof of the Museum Dr. Piotr M. A. Cywiński, during a ceremony held at the Ossolineum Institute in Wrocław.
